I have to admit that I have the most enjoyable time in a car where my sister is driving for hours (1 hour is pushing it with Brenda) and I'm ridin shotgun and my parents are in the back oblivious to what is goin on and where we are goin... The Best time!!! There are a few moments that stand out... like when an hour and a half minutes into this trip my sister decided to tell my mother that she should cook more often. Yes! This is what happens when you're with Ms. Impatient. We were even considering turning back once we reached The Woodlands after we had been stuck in traffic for 45 minutes not including the time it took to reach that traffic. So, Siri went crazy a couple times as expected but we made it after all, and like most that visit the #renfest , we made it to the employee gates first and were then told to turn away to God knows where... follow the last guy: Super helpful right?! Our phones had awkward reception but it was okay, the experience was great! To save a few buckies, purchase your tix online with no need to print. So first things first, you will see all the peeps in costumes and they actually have spots where you can rent costumes at the entrance, you know so you wont feel like an outcast with no costume. TBH, I was there for the food. Specifically, a turkey leg. Once I saw it, I didn't want one anymore, maybe it was a dream of mine to hold one once more but not to eat it, (there's a lie being told that when we were younger I had swallowed my brothers tooth that was broken off on a turkey leg, and I "ate" that tooth-full piece of turkey meat, IT'S NOT TRUE!) but there I was taking a selfie with my sister and the turkey leg. I went for the sweet potato tots, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM as a solo treat; too sweet beyond my years!!! Funnel cakes followed, then vanilla ice cream & pickles... you know, things I could've found in #HTOWN . It was def a great experience, my parents enjoyed it to the max! So we left pretty late, and the drive home was a little crazy still with my sister, my parents had been fallin in and out of sleep with the cool a/c. We ran into the usual traffic from the Northside, where my northsiders at??? It was all good once we made it downtown and into the SE, finally home and my sisters frown turned upside down and just like that she was in a better mood; homie-ness will do that to a sista! One thing I have to share with you guys is actually about my elephant experience. My dad and I had the honor of riding one of these great creatures. Can I be honest? I felt horrible inside because of the awareness I have toward this type of entertainment, so I was conflicted. Guess what guys? The opportunity here in my homestate to ride these majestic beauties was too good, that I did it! It was not a "brave" moment, I trusted I would be safe at all times and I thank God that it was a safe memory but it was a ' You think you know yourself' type moment. I shall explain that at a later time but it was a beautiful thing that I shared with my dad and a time I will not forget. Hope you guys enjoy the photo below.
