Shout outs to all the Frozen movie craze, cause I had an epiphany! I thought a little extra more about the lessons these animated movies have taught us along the years. Sure you had your Lion Kings that taught us that you cannot forget whose you are or your purpose in life, you cannot live fooling yourself by being something you are not. Lets face it..Simba was king, point blank period and the dot! We also had our fairy tales about love choices that had to be made... which is great and chewy but c'mon! Do NOT get me wrong, I grew up on those VHS movies. So I thought to myself there has got to be a significant movie out there and that led to my assigning myself some homework. There are few things dear to my heart and for everyone this will depend on your upbringing, so for me, I wish we all had this... self acceptance. I'd like to invite you to get familiarized once again with 'Lilo and Stitch'. Yeah I know we like that bubbly art and 3D graphic stuff but I have you know... this movie was made mainly using water paints, TOP THAT! So it had that older movie feel to it but I think it worked, you know cause: Water = Hawaii. That's how I like to think of it at least. As I grow wiser I think back on those adolescent days where all we did was watch movies and now I wish I wouldve taken away from those movie lessons , the rare ones that you could relate to. <Spoiler Alert> Sorry if you have never seen this movie but im about to gush alll about it FYI. Lilo is a little hawaiian native and Stitch is an alien. You soon find that Lilo is not a fan favorite but she loved so much, with all her heart. She craved acceptance and respect because she felt she gave it and should recieve it in turn. Lilo loves listening to her music, "Elvis" and I mean... C'mon, who doesn't love Elvis? Lilo's sister was in a legal battle over Lilo after the loss of their parents. Lilo and her older sister were very close but found it hard to relate, but what sisters don't have those moments? They were both just trying to make it with the few resources they had. Lilo yearned for someone that would love her and not give her troubles, that someone that would always be with her and you know the rest, yup, a shooting star happened. Stitch come through, he sure did crash land. She prayed that God would send her an angel, a true friend. Stitch was a creation that went wrong. He was indestructible and his mission in life was to destroy everything in sight. This is where it all comes full circle. Lilo was an outcast and stitch was now on the Most Wanted list, he needed to be destroyed. With her love and genuine spirit and above all her unwillingness to give up, Lilo does it! Love could now be found inside Stitch, where he once wanted to destroy cities, now in that heart was love and unity. They gave meaning to each others life. After all the adventures throughout the movie, Lilo gets to stay with her sister and Stitch and they live happily ever after. Watchin this movie now, makes me think...how was this movie overlooked? Did we really need 'Frozen' to see a love that was already there? I for one did not......sorry but those songs....they're just not for me. Some things will linger as we get on with life, and its human nature to want someone or something to validate us; our existence, and trust me, God will always provide. Some may learn this early on in life and for others it may take longer though. Trials make you stronger and some trials will maybe teach you that we dont need others validations on our lives. People get placed in our life and may last us a season or possibly they'll be there forever, but no matter the duration, you should not think you didnt mean anything powerful to others. Theres not a rule on approval required for time needed for someone to be able to make a grand impact on another persons life. Like Lilo, just ask the creator of all and he will provide.
