I'd like to invite you into another piece of my world. My sister Brenda is 'The MakeUp Artist' for XtenbyDeAnda; our makeup artistry partnership. I will not emphasize too much on this now , but I would like to share how Brenda organized her own personal makeup station on a Budget. Garage Sales and Thrift Shops are an affordbale source to finding desks or tables, your focal point. Brenda found a discrete desk with almost a hidden drawer look. If you're going for a specific theme or color, remember you can always use spray paint on these pieces of furniture or also you can try the special duct tapes that offer fun patterns and/or solids. You can see patterned tape being used on the plastic shelving units alongside the desk on the pictures below. The mirror could become a controversial decision. I personally like a miror I can pull up to my face, as opposed to one flat on a wall. I'd like to mention that this makeup station is about 90% complete, the lighting will be moved around. You can add small wallet-friendly touches and details such as flowers or pearls to personalize your area. Don't get carried away displaying your unique makeup items or tools, my suggestion is to keep it clean and open. After all, this is for makeup and as a makeup artist you tend to have all eyeshadow tubes out, palettes, eyelash glue, and a stash of lashes and so on. The cleaner you can keep it the better. Also, don't forget a little trash bin, this is essential for applying makeup and an easy clean up. Lastly, I Adore the personal pictures Brenda pinned to the wall. They are selfie shots and are just Fun and most importantly, they are true to Brenda. You can print those through your own printer or visit your nearest pharmacy that still offers a photo center for all customers. Whether you use your laptop, phone, ipod or an oldschool boombox, Dont forget your Music Area! Music helps prep your vision and gets the creative juices goin', it pumps you up for sure! Keep it simply YOU.
